MSG and Our Role

Role of PNGRGC in the MSG

The PNG Resource Governance Coalition coordinates civil society MSG members and provides the technical research and analysis they need to engage critically with EITI data. As the peak body representing civil society on Papua New Guinea’s MSG, PNGRGC ensures that:

  • Diverse, qualified civil society voices participate in EITI governance.
  • Community concerns, environmental considerations, and accountability priorities inform EITI reporting.
  • Complex revenue reports, production data, and company payments are translated into accessible public information.
  • EITI processes are used to advance broader accountability goals and deeper reforms in extractive sector governance.

Open Government

PNGRGC contributes to Papua New Guinea’s Open Government Partnership (OGP) National Action Plan processes as the supporting CSO to PNGEITI, including co-creation workshops and cluster reviews.
