Who We Are

Who We Are

The PNG Resource Governance Coalition (PNGRGC) is Papua New Guinea’s umbrella civil society organisation for resource governance. We coordinate civil society’s participation in the PNG Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PNGEITI), advocate for accountability across the extractive sector, and work to ensure that communities most affected by resource extraction have a meaningful voice in decisions that shape their lives.

Established in 2015 and formally registered as an incorporated association with the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) in 2019, PNGRGC is governed by its Constitution and guided by a Council drawn from civil society organisations across Papua New Guinea.

Our Purpose

Coordinating civil society’s participation in the PNG Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (PNGEITI) as the peak body representative, and promoting good governance within Papua New Guinea’s extractive sector.

We convene community-based, faith-based, legal, environmental, transparency, and anti-corruption organisations to amplify civil society voice, strengthen accountability, and help ensure that resource revenue benefits are managed fairly for current and future generations.
