EITI validation is a global assessment that reviews how well countries implement transparency standards in the management of revenues from oil, gas, and mining. Civil society plays an important role in this process by representing the public interest within the national MSG and ensuring that transparency leads to greater accountability.

Today’s session highlighted the importance of strong collaboration among civil society organisations as Papua New Guinea prepares for the 2026 validation process.
